I watched this Bobcat hunting along the side of the road. Once I had a sense of its direction of travel and tolerance for humans, I did a wide circle to position myself ahead of and offset from its path, with the sun at my back. It was truly my lucky day, as some noise from the road spooked the Bobcat, causing it to run straight towards me before veering off. I got some classic feline side-eye, and then it crested a hill, hunted and devoured a gopher, and settled down for a brief nap. A lucky day for everyone, except the gopher.
