Cars make excellent hides for wildlife photography. I’m not sure I ever expected to use a car as a hide for shorebird photography. But, our wintering Killdeers often feed in grassy fields. When this one was pecking around on a small rise right next to the road, I was able to gingerly open my door and snap off a few shots of this notoriously skittish bird.
