Happy Mothers’ Day! A great horned owl delivers a mouse to her nearly fully grown owlet. Owls are very far-sighted, so they use their whiskers to judge close-up activities like handing off food and preening. Perhaps her eyes are closed to protect against an overly enthusiastic kid grabbing for its meal.
