Weasels are one of my favorite photographic subjects. They’re fierce and fearless while being absolutely adorable. They often seem larger than life as they pop in and out of holes before dashing around their fields.
As always, Nature is indifferent to our feelings. There’s a reason weasels spend most of their lives hiding in the burrows of their prey. They’re no less vulnerable to the larger predators who rule their territories. Their small size gives them easier access to prey, but given a chance the larger predators will happily take out a competitor and enjoy a filling meal in the process.
