Normally I don’t like photos of animals on barbed wire fences. In fact (dirty secret time) in most of my photos of a bird perched on a solitary fence post, I’ve carefully cloned out the barbed wire. But, I think the wire really ties this photo together.
Hopefully, with the buyouts of the ranches at Point Reyes, all of this barbed wire will come down soon. I wouldn’t mind the fence posts staying behind, though. Lots of birds and especially raptors find them to be excellent perches.
